A Rare Vegas Rain Storm

Wednesday, February 14th, 2007

Yes it’s actually raining in the desert. I love the rain lots except when I am working. It turns a night that could be good into a no call night. If you don’t have people walking down the strip or around town then you have no way of reaching them with advertising except with Internet or Yellowpages. Only one of the companies I work for now even use the Yellowpages and the rest rely on advertising on the streets. The reason why more companies don’t use the phone book is because of the incredibly expensive rates you have to pay every six months to keep an ad. Takes so many calls constantly to even break even on those ads. I understand why most companies stick to people passing out cards or little magazine stands.

The only call I received tonight was from my Eros ad from a guy at Circus Circus who had a bad listening problem. I really hate it when people call and don’t say hi or “my name is” and immediately just ask, “what do you charge per hour”. I respond with, “Well I like to come meet you and talk to you in person first but my entertainment starts at $$ and goes up from there. I don’t have any specific rates for hour or half hour it just ranges depending on the level of entertainment.” I know quite a few girls in other cities work on an hour or half hour rates, but what girls ends up doing around here is charging for whatever act they perform. I do take my time and all because I want the customers to enjoy themselves and not think I am just running off. Anyway, this guy kept pushing me to say what I do for my minimum price and what sexual acts does it include. I say that is illegal and I don’t like to talk on the phone anyway like I said before. I suggested for me to come by and meet him under no obligation (to perform my little tests so I feel more comfortable) but he just responded with an “I’ll call you back”. He called back 10 minutes later again asking me more pointed sexual questions and how much to get out of the atm. I again repeated that I would love to come meet him but I cannot answer his questions without coming over first. He said another “I’ll call you back”, but of course he didn’t. I am sure I frustrate a lot of guys by saying that I would like to come over first but they have to understand that no one can talk about sexual acts over the phone. In the end, maybe I am the only frustrated one

Fright Night at the Las Vegas Flamingo

Friday, February 2nd, 2007

I am finally home free of my legal battles and so happy for it. I can breathe a huge sigh of relief now, and as my lawyer put it, “now you can start all over again!” It’s sad but true, since busts are so prevalent. The only thing that is left now is getting my records sealed so that I have no public record. After that is taken care of then I can truly be relieved.

So last night I went to a “back-up” call to the Flamingo for a service around 4am. Just to explain the terminology, a “back-up” call refers to a call for a service where one girl or girls picked up the fee but they couldn’t work anything out with the customer. Sometimes the girl acts rude, won’t negotiate her pricing, or he swears after the first girl leaves that he really has money and please send him someone else. Almost all phone girls want to send a back-up girl to try the customer a second time. Their pay solely depends on what the girls tip, so why not? It gives them another try on making a tip instead of it being a “base” call (where only a fee is collected and no one else makes money but the company). Anyways, the phone girl gives me the room number and informs me that it is a backup call and the first girls were rude but thinks I can make it work.

I know by the room numbers which of the hotel’s three elevators I need to take in order to bypass a long winding walk down the hallways upstairs. I walk from the garage past the lobby towards the casino floor. Out of the corner of my eye I see a black girl that looked like a working girl, wandering around the lobby. I walked on across the casino floor towards my elevator when this same girl caught up with me somehow saying, “Hey.. hey there.. excuse me.. oh those are nice shoes.” I slowed down and turned around and looked at her in the face. My stomach sunk as I immediately recognized her under a bad wig: it was the girl who was a part of vice during the bust I was in around Christmas time. When I turned to face her she started asking me, “Do you want to do doubles?” Doubles? What kind of question is that to ask a random girl anyway even if you know she is a prostitute? I said, “Doubles? Huh? What are you talking about?”

“Yea, do doubles together”, she replied.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about”, I said and tried to have an offended look on my face.

“Oh, are you working?” she asked.

“Working? What? I’m going to my room,” I replied or something along those lines.

She apologized a couple of times and I hurried towards the elevator and she walked off the other direction. Whew… I got up to the room safely. When I walked in I started freaking out in my mind. Not because of the two guys I had to deal with to make money, but the thought of having to actually get out of the hotel. I panicked and couldn’t concentrate on working anything out with the customers. I don’t think I could have worked anything out even if I wasn’t in my frightened state. I had bad pictures going through my head of vice officers waiting for me at the bottom of all of the elevators because they figured out who I was and I wasn’t supposed to be in any Harrah’s-owned casinos. I left the call and walked all the way down the winding hallways to the elevator closet to the garage and went down to the ground level. Coast was clear and I walked as fast as I could to my car. I think my heart was about to flop out.

Kind of a long story but glad it all ended well. I am looking forward to a busy weekend since it’s the Super Bowl this Sunday and everyone has to go to Vegas to bet on the game!

Sounds funny but it’s true. After working out here for years I could write down every hotel’s room number sequences, tell you which tower it’s in, if there is security downstairs, where the elevators are, and other useless trivia. Well, I take that back, I can never get Caesar’s Palace room numbers right and downtown hotels can get tricky since I don’t go there all that often. As many rooms as I have seen I should start working for hotel websites and doing their reviews of the rooms. I guess I would have something to fall back on when I quit doing my current job. Ok… well maybe not.

I’m going to do something different and kind of humorous and rate some of Las Vegas’ hotel rooms from a whore’s point of view. I’d love to hear your input too if I missed anything

Hotel Room I Was Most Surprised About:
The Fremont Hotel and Casino. As far as downtown casinos go, The Golden Nugget has been the nicest ones downtown for a while and especially more so now that Landry’s owns them. I went to the Fremont on a call and felt like I was in a different hotel when I got off of the elevator and was surprised when I walked into the room. The company that owns this hotel caters to a lot of Hawaiians so generally all of the customers I have seen there have been nice and can afford to have a good time. By no means is this one of the nicest hotels in Vegas, but I am sure it’s a bargain for the room. I have to also mention the suites at Barbary Coast. Their regular rooms are ho hum but I have been in two suites that have totally shocked me on how nice they were.

Most Overrated Hotel:
Man this is a difficult one.. I am saying it’s a tie between the MGM (excluding the new West Wing hotel rooms which are awesome) and the Four Seasons. Yes I really did just say the famous Four Seasons. I might take my review on the Four Seasons back after the next time I go there because the pictures on their website of the rooms look much better now. The last time I went on a call there (been in the suites and regular rooms) I was surprised at how plain and bare the rooms were. The regular room looked almost identical to the standard Mandalay Bay rooms (which is the same building, just certain floors are for Four Seasons guests) but a little simpler. As far as the MGM goes, they tend to charge an arm and a leg for rooms that need to be updated and are just simple, but they can get away with it because of the events they hold there makes it convenient for tourists. I have also been in customer’s rooms that try to order any sort of room service and the wait always seems to be about an hour. I personally try to stay out of the MGM due to their extreme dislike of working girls like me. If you’re a john and want girls to come to you, I would book somewhere else since so many girls refuse to step foot in there. You will probably end up with someone you don’t like or someone who is real new.

Worst Hotel Room:
The Excalibur. This hotel should be just blown up just because it is an eye sore and the rooms are even worse than the gaudy exterior. The rooms have a horrible 70’s brown carpet and everything else is just ugly. Even though the Tropicana is pretty darn bad, I would much rather stay there than be run over by strollers at the Excalibur. It seems like they are doing some remodeling but I don’t think it will be much improvement unless they gutted the whole place. I have to note that I think this hotel is just the worst on the Strip, though some downtown hotels can beat the Excalibur hands down for the worst.

Last but not least…

The Overall Best Room:

I would have to give that to The Hotel at Mandalay Bay. Yes the rooms at Bellagio, Wynn, Venetian, Caesar’s and Paris are all nice but I think this room gives you the most for a standard room. Every room there is a true suite (unlike the Rio which is advertised as an all-suite hotel but really they are just one large room with a couch) and has a living room area with a separate bedroom. Every room has a nice mini-bar, full bathroom with tub and shower, half bath in living area, a desk with a fax machine, two flat panel TV’s, and one small LCD TV in the bathroom. It’s has a more modern look and what’s even better is the lack of security downstairs to sneak up your date for the night.
