Good News and Bad News in Las Vegas

Saturday, January 13th, 2007

So what do you want first, the good or bad news? Well I will tell you the good news first just because the bad news really isn’t all that bad and the good news is really awesome to me. It made my week.

Good news: The legal matters I was talking about recently? I went by my lawyer’s office on Thursday to handle some payment stuff for my first case (the one I wrote about recently was the second time I had been arrested and charged for solicitation). Earlier that day his assistant went in for me to handle the pretrial of the second case. Apparently I got so extremely lucky and got a D.A. who was fresh out of law school and when he was told that my first case was being dismissed, he just dropped the second case he was supposed to handle. I don’t understand why he really did this except maybe he didn’t want to bother with my case because I have been capable of getting previous charges dismissed. Whatever the case is I am so relieved and happy for this. I will go into more details about this case now that it is dropped in a future blog. All I know is even if this case went through to the courts, there was no way it would have stuck. They just saved their time by dropping it.

Bad news: Well like I said it really isn’t that bad. It is just that CES this year was pretty disappointing compared to the rumors I have heard over the years from call girls about how great it was. I did have some pretty decent and easy calls but they were pretty evenly distributed over the course of the convention. There wasn’t one night that was really great to write home about. Then again, if you’re in the sex industry or even a stripper, we all know how girls like to brag about how great this or that was last year or “back in those days”. I’m not going to lie, but I have done the same thing too. Anyway I just got a call from a service. Lets cross our fingers!

Trouble in Sin City

Friday, January 5th, 2007

So I am back! Took a little leave of absence.. some of it against my will and some time to travel back to my home state to see family and friends for the holidays. Came back to Las Vegas in time to ring in the New Year and now back to working in 2007. I ended up not working the night of New Years Eve, but if you have been to Vegas for New Years you know its impossible to get anywhere in a reasonable amount of time. In fact, if you get anywhere it will probably be on foot. That is definitely not my favorite mode of transportation.

My unfortunate “vacation” against my will before the holidays was spent in the fine facility of the Clark County Detention center. I won’t go into too specific details (maybe after the case is over) but it was another one of the Vice squads immature ways to lure people to arrest them for the most trite reasons. It just makes me furious how in “Sin City” how prostitution is illegal but only an hour drive away in Nye County it is perfectly legal. I mean the city’s motto is “What happens here stays here” but yet there is a movement to take the sin out of Sin City. For example the new no smoking ban (ok I like that law), the ridiculously strict rules of lap dances, and some other issues that have been in legislature lately in the Las Vegas area. I understand arrests from officers when prostitutes are affecting the look of the city. For example, trashy looking girls walking up and down West Tropicana, hassling people on the Strip, or making a scene by picking up guys at hotel bars. What I don’t understand is when they arrest people like me. I advertise online or go through an agency, I show up to a hotel only to go directly upstairs, and then provide whatever services privately in the room. I don’t loiter and I usually leave immediately. I don’t dress flashy and don’t attract attention by what I wear.

So what are they even trying to accomplish? Cleaning up the Internet? Hardly. Trying to save me from a life they disapprove of? I am sure they feel like they are “saving” me. I know that they think that I am a horribly disgusting, un-clean girl when I am in fact the polar opposite. When I was going to be released out of jail, the first time I was arrested, an officer said to me and the 12 other girls who had been arrested at the same time, “I don’t understand why they bother with you girls by arresting so many of you. It messes us up down at the jail since they bring so many in at once… and frankly, all you are doing is making the tourists happy and giving them what they want”.

Too bad there aren’t more of those kinds of people in politics. I know our mayor wanted a few years ago some sort of red light district downtown but I know Oscar Goodman would have hell trying to get that passed. I would actually like to be more of an activist on the subject of prostitution in politics. I would love suggestions on where to find such web sites.

Last but not least happy New Year everyone!

The Las Vegas Christmas Slowdown

Sunday, December 10th, 2006

Business out here in December is as slow as cold molasses. After the rodeo leaves (which ended yesterday but we all know they aren’t big spenders) there really isn’t a darn thing that comes through Vegas until the new year. Thankfully though at the New Year CES comes around. Surprisingly even though Las Vegas is known for the biggest spot to hold conventions, only certain conventions you actually see a return cash wise on the amount of people that are in town. For example, the NAB conference (National Association of Broadcasters) is one convention that blows my mind every year. In mid-April it comes into town with 140,000 people who work for NBC, Toshiba, or Sony yet if I don’t go out to the casinos to find a customer at the bar I will be broke. My phone doesn’t ring from the services and when it does it ends up being a waste of time. On the other end, a show like the wireless phone convention in May who has 15,000 attendants (these are people who sell cell phones for a living.. not the big income kind of guy) I will make quite a bit of money on. There is just no easy formula for this town. I have yet to figure it out.

Last night ended up being okay. I was boasting about my regular yesterday who ended up standing me up by the end of the night. I think I spoke too soon about him being a good regular. He says he swears he will call me next time but we will have to see about that. Luckily after a few small tips and some base calls (calls where only the fee was collected) a guy called me off of my Eros ad and immediately said what he wanted to tip. That always kind of makes me nervous because I definitely don’t agree to any entertainment on the phone for my safety. I said I like to meet you first and give you a strip tease… he said sure and I headed over there. He passed my little test to feel safer and everything worked out so I didn’t have to stay for very long. He got a discount anyway. I figured if I hassled him for more money then he might think I am a hustling him and would ask me to leave. Believe it or not it happens..

Las Vegas isn’t known for its regulars..

Saturday, December 9th, 2006

That’s for sure. When I worked out of state in strip clubs it was always your primary goal to get as many regular customers as you could because they would always come back to you and you could rely on their dances as somewhat reliable income. Being in Vegas is totally different for working. It doesn’t matter if you work in a strip joint or selling sex, it’s difficult to build a clientele that constantly comes back to see you in this town. I can count on one hand how many customers have left town and called me back when they are visiting Vegas their next trip in the three years I have been working out here. Kinda stinks…

Today I was lucky though. I seemed to have found a guy who comes to Vegas pretty often and seems like a steady customer but doesn’t want to get too crazy, try to push my rules, or try to get some sort of discount on a second visit. Actually this time he paid me a little more. I hope he continues to call me in the future.. I always worry that they will move on to a different girl.

Tonight is so slow with the rodeo leaving town. Besides my regular I have had two calls that were no answers and one call where the guys only paid a girl and me the company fee but couldn’t even tip enough for a few dances. Speaking of… my phone is ringing. Off to Harrah’s
