Feeling The Economic Crunch In Las Vegas: Prostitutes Are Getting Creative!

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008

So last night I originally started this blog at 3am sitting at an agency bored out of my mind, deafened by the silence of the phones, and scribbling words down on my little note pad (not too comfortable taking my new laptop out of its cocoon of my house yet) then realizing that things have really slowed down in Vegas compared to last July. My phone rang right when I was thinking that and had to run off to Treasure Island where I made a decent amount of money. Though I don’t believe in luck… I sure did feel lucky to have that one call.

Anyway, last night aside, it’s been a slow few weeks… painfully slow at times. Even the 4th of July holiday was dreadfully bad. I think I spent more on gas than I made in tips. Recently I saw an article in the newspaper about how gambling profits are down 15% in Las Vegas and MGM Mirage lost something like 30% in their first quarter. First time anything has slumped at all in about a decade. The whole fuel situation with the airlines is causing major issues too since they have cut flights coming into Las Vegas plus the California drivers have been less plentiful this summer unlike previous years. It doesn’t help that people don’t promote bargains here anymore like before, its now all about bigger and better and charging at least $1000 for it.

Last night I went to fill my car up and noticed a girl hanging around the front of the convenience store and could instantly tell what she was up to and was waiting for her “ride”. Another car pulled up when she got into immediately but I guess he was broke and only ended up giving him her number. She hopped out and quickly jumped into another car, which left the station. Guess that guy worked out. All while pumping my gas I thought to myself, “wow, I wonder if the 7-11 lots will become the new ‘track’” Not too long before this trip to the gas station I had been at the Imperial Palace for a call and noticed a high number of prostitutes walking the Strip. Usually girls keep from looking so obvious and stay away from the street due to the officers who stand by watching and pluck girls off the street to put them in their paddy wagons hiding around the corner.

I guess when times get hard you have to resort to things you wouldn’t normally do and suffer the consequences if caught. Thankfully I haven’t resorted to these measures and hopefully wont, though after making $0 two nights in a row, it seems tempting! Nah..

The Most Religious Prostitute in Las Vegas

Friday, July 4th, 2008

The other night I went to the Rio Hotel and was told I was waiting for a second girl, who I’ve known for a while, who would join me on the call. After the phone girl from the agency was unable to reach the guy the first two times she called, the other girl (named Laura) and I went to sit in her car while they tried to get a hold of the client again. I mentioned to Laura that I hadn’t seen her in a while and wondered where she had been. She said, “I’ve been in Ohio… at a conference”. Since I am the only person I know who actually goes to conferences and conventions for my own educational well-being I was intrigued since someone else actually travels to do the same. I inquired as to what kind of conference since this job is the only thing I know she has. She answered back, “A… Bible conference”. I could tell she was slightly embarrassed to admit it but I said back to ease her that I used to be big into church and had visited a mid-west state for the same type of thing years ago. I must have put her quite at ease as she went on about how she thinks God has her here in this profession for a reason and He knows where her heart really is. She then said that God has a plan for her and that something will become of the things she has done as a prostitute.

“Don’t forget in the Bible Jesus saved a prostitute”, she carried on saying.

I mentioned to Laura that I had gone to an Easter service a few years ago and when I mentioned it to another girl we work with, named Stacy, she said that she could never go back to church until she quit doing this job. Stacy at the time said, “Don’t you feel like a hypocrite? You go there knowing that that evening you will go out committing those sins again.” In response to telling Laura what the other girl said was
that she knows it may seem like she is a hypocrite but also knows there is a bigger reason.

This conversation all happened so quickly in a minute or two that I was actually stunned and speechless when getting out of her car once we found out we could leave. She said, “Thanks for the talk!” when I stood up, “and don’t forget… no body knows your relationship with God but you”.

I walked away confused and perplexed that I just had a whirlwind of a conversation with a very religious… Prostitute.

Wow back from my trip and see people responded quite a bit to my last post before I left.

Since there’s so much to reply to I’ll just make an entry and then in a separate one telling of the horrible situation I had to deal with tonight. What a welcome back to home to Vegas, experience I went through!

Whomever posted as “I”: Unfortunately there’s no easy solution to pin pointing ads on eros or some such as agencies just by looking at them. Even some single girl independent sites are run through services. You just need to call around and figure things out on your own and if the girl who answers says “I answer the phone for the girls” translates to probably being a service. Dealing with services isn’t a bad thing you just have to understand you’re in for paying a little more for someone to send you a girl like room service. Casino/nightclub girls can be an okay bet but always be cautious of who you take back and not knowing even where she came from.

DRR: I have never heard a story like that but I have heard of girls getting fake chips (like what they sell in souvenir shops) and I have had a guy try to give me a chip from a roulette table (same kind of chip for tourney’s). I completely don’t doubt a poker player trying to pull some game like that. .. thanks for reminding me to watch for the annual poker players at the Rio! Can be a good crowd 🙂

jaecyn: Wow really sorry to hear about that… sad to hear you also picked up the phone so easily and resorted to calling security. I really hate it when people don’t just say “hey I don’t like you leave” or some other lame excuse and immediately shoo the girl off. Calling security when you haven’t even given her money is kinda like tattling to your parents when your sister is bugging you. In the end it makes everyone look like an idiot by reacting that way. You did the right thing when you got the phone call from the “driver” … next time just say leave I don’t like you than resorting to such unnecessary measures.

I can’t wait to write about the horrible mess I went through tonight… can’t wait to talk to my lawyer on Monday, too.

My Thoughts On New York Governor Eliot Spitzer’s Resignation…

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

I find it amusing that I have people combing websites to find out who I really am. Awesome! Keep searching… it’s possible. I have actually had one person figure out who I was and booked a party with me. I was quite surprised when I found this out… so see? It is possible.

So someone else asked me about my opinion on the whole ridiculously over-rated Spitzer sex-scandal and his involvement in a “prostitution ring”. I don’t see what the whole huge deal was that the media and the New York government immediately wanted him to step down. As far as I know, he didn’t lie under oath. The new governor has admitted now to using cocaine and marijuana so how does that make him any better of a governor than Spitzer? They both broke the law, neither done in front or to a law enforcement officer, so who knows what really happened? Most importantly… who cares? I sure don’t. I don’t know if Spitzer was that swell of a governor but it’s a shame he lost his job for this and the replacement isn’t much better of a “moral character”. I hate that word by the way… morals. Its something that the right winged religious fanatics care about and that’s the voice that gets heard the most in our government. I wish our country would get out of the Victorian Age of thinking and get a wake up call.

I can’t find the poll but a friend of mine told me of a poll he saw on the Times’ web site about prostitution and should it be legal or not. He said that a large majority said they think it should be legalized and regulated. Wow… just wish I could find that!
