Las Vegas Escort Agencies: How Do They Really Work?

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

I have a lot of customers who see me through agencies I work for who are confused and a lot of times want to argue about what and what I do not make out of initial fees. Lately the trend is for people to argue that I am lying about how much of the fee they paid do I actually keep. When I tell them honestly I make nothing out of it they cry bullshit and sometimes it ends up souring my mood when people want to argue right off the bat. I mean if a fee is a couple of hundred dollars and the girl actually got to keep a portion of it then it would be along the lines of $50 which barely fills up a tank of gas these days…

So my point to all of this is to share with people how things really break down here in Las Vegas with escort services compared to other cities. Things work differently everywhere you go when trying to find an escort whether in the U.S. or abroad and hopefully I can explain things that go on behind-the-scenes with agencies.

Each company works a little differently but all around they generally follow the same guidelines:

Company #1: One of the main companies I work for relies solely on the referral business from cab drivers, limo drivers, and VIP hosts. Since cabbies and the like can be tough to deal with this company has been forced to raise their fees up over the years that I have worked for them. Their fee is now $250-$300. Yea it’s nuts and it does sometimes cause problems when customers really don’t believe that I walk away with any of that amount. Believe me I don’t! This is how it breaks down:

$250 fee collected = Cabbie gets $200 of it + $50 goes to owner of the company
Girl is tipped lets say $400 = 20% to the phone girl who booked the call and depending on the tip the company gets what’s called a “bring up” of $25. The more the entertainer gets tipped… the more the “bring up” is. Each company has their own “bring up” levels.

In the end, this example of a call gets split up like this
Cabbie= $200
Owner= $75
Phone Girl= $80
Entertainer= $295

Company #2: This example applies to a number of other companies I work for. They advertise by handing out those cards on the strip, magazines in the racks on the road, mobile billboard trucks, and the internet.

The fees range from $100 a girl to $250 depending on the where the customer found the advertisement and can be lowered depending on the circumstances. This fee goes 100% back to the company. The entertainer works off of tips after the fee is collected and is up to the girl to negotiate that of course. Some of these types of companies charge 10% for the bring up and 20% goes to the phone girl.

For example if a girl made $500 tip and picked up a $150 fee it would break down like this:
Owner/Company= $200 ($150 fee + $50 from the 10% “bring up”)
Phone Girl = $100
Entertainer = $350

So why do I work for agencies? You can read that in my previous post about questions asked repeatedly… In the end I just can’t solely live off of my internet bookings. After all this is a town where people act on impulse not necessarily something they would plan as much as if they were back home.

A Good Article, A Bad Friday Night, and The Chicken Ranch Experience

Tuesday, May 6th, 2008

A friend of mine recently found this article about how prostitution and the escort economy is going. I was pretty shocked that such a high profile business magazine would right an article about the escort business and how much of money goes into it and how many man actually participate (I think the figure is a little on the light side… it says 700,000 men when I believe they get that in the western half of the U.S. alone). It breaks down everything from the typical average joe wanting to blow a little cash to the middle of the road client who pays for dinner and the date afterwards, and finally to the high roller who jets his date around the world in his airplane while distracting the wife at home with a spa treatment. I found humor in it since they pinned it pretty good (and the pricing as well though I would say the average client spends more here in Las Vegas on an escort than say… Miami). I applaud them for actually including it into the economy.

Anyway… I had an up and down weekend along followed with a good Monday. Friday night was terrible. I had made some money on two calls and I went to the MGM Signature section and saw a British couple. I collected the fee and they seemed to agree and completely understand what was going on and that I worked off of tips. Unfortunately, after getting naked and dancing, they didn’t want to tip very much (the company’s fee was the same amount as what they wanted to spend which just isn’t fair) and wanted some crazy threesome. Sorry but I just couldn’t stay… so I try to get them a cheaper girl and they freak. They don’t want me they don’t want anyone they just want the fee back. Its non refundable just as I told them before collecting it and I get on the phone with the girl at the agency who booked the call and as I put my phone down the guy grabs it and says, “Let me talk to her!” I said please give me back my phone that is my property. He refuses and hangs up on the phone girl. He says give me the money back or you don’t get your phone. I try calling from the room phone they wont let me. Every time I pick up the room phone to try and call my boss (and my friend) and he hangs it up from the other phone in the room. I am stuck and this goes on for like half an hour until he picks up the phone, calls security and says that someone has broken into his room and needs help. I freak out… I would have called security first but I am officially trespassing by being on an MGM property so when they see my ID I am screwed (and perhaps be arrested). I would have left my phone (if it was backed up recently and I have insurance so it would have cost me $50) and chunked the one he had in the tub and walked out. I was just stuck and macing 2 people ganging up on me is next to impossible without knowing some sort of fighting skills. Sigh…

Saturday I spent at the Chicken Ranch for the Sin City Chamber of Commerce’s annual Chili Cookoff and Golf Tournament. Quite a lot of fun and I was running on no sleep after that horrible event the night before (what I SHOULD have done kept racing through my head over and over). Had quite a bit of fun and beers and was surprised to meet Amanda from texasgoldengirl.com and a representative from Desiree Alliance. I wish I had been a bit more talkative and gotten a chance to get some interviews from the working girls at the Ranch but alas, I kind of was shy and didn’t get take the opportunity. All I know is I have a better understanding of what girls charge and how I don’t sound so ridiculous now charging what I do in Las Vegas. It’s just too far of a drive for a brothel, in my opinion.

Part 3: Questions That People Repeatedly Ask Me Repeatedly

Tuesday, April 29th, 2008

So the INTEROP convention is this week though you would have never known it. Once NAB (National Association of Broadcasters.. the largest Vegas convention still, I believe) is over with it means the end of convention season is winding down. Darnit! Next come the summer time travelers and the families. Quite a few bachelor parties remain but I worry gas prices might hinder the traffic coming in from California this summer. Southern California drivers flood the I-15 on Friday afternoons trying to escape Los Angeles or San Deigo… they tend to do the last minute traveling plan and get one room for 5 guys but sometimes it works out.. keeps the money flowing into the town for sure.

Now for some random questions I get asked repeatedly to continue on with this series

Lots of customers ask me how I got to Las Vegas… which I usually respond with a quirky, “I drove here”, to get a chuckle out of them. Really I first started coming here during the summer months to escape the slow season in the topless clubs that I worked in back home. It worked out well and I would make way more money than I would have before. I sometimes would pay off only my tip-out at the clubs back home due to the number of men staying at home with their kids while they were off from school or would be out on vacations. Why not work where they went FOR vacation? Was a good plan for sure.

Then their next question is: “How did you start doing this?” The answer is a slightly complex one that I’d rather not go into, but basically when I was working in the clubs in my home state I was already dealing with levels of prostitution but in denial about it. Complete denial. After getting fed up with dealing with working in Las Vegas strip clubs where it is hustle or die with no regulars, I decided to give an agency a shot. I was sick and tired of the men hassling me and begging me to solicit then only give me 20 bucks for a pathetic dance. Things in Vegas were changing at the times in the strip clubs: massive clubs were being built, Cheetahs/Jaguar’s owner was under federal indictment, and I had been about 10-15 lbs overweight and that never helps when you want to get the good shift at the Spearmint Rhino from a manager named John who is notorious for being highly selective. I lied to the first agency I went to and said I had worked for an agency before but not in Las Vegas. Looking back I acted like a complete imbecile when dealing with them, but I learned a lot. I also came to learn that I worked for the toughest agency in town (and still is to this day) so at least I started out with the worst which means it can only get better! I got a different, less tough agency to work for soon after then (which is now owned by some one else who recently just lost their *mind*), and met a girl who referred me to a service that I still work for today. That’s my little story of how I began… it’s been almost 5 years since I started working out here, and it’s still completely unpredictable.

Obscene Yet Funny: Phone Calls Received at Escort Services

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008

So I get my share of silly phone calls from clients but I also like hearing about the ones that girls get at the offices that I work at around town. One night a few weeks ago it was pretty dead around town and I called a phone girl to chit chat and see what was up. She told me the only guy who called was one asking a pretty unusual question.

She said she answered the phone and the gave the guy the whole sales pitch about how she answers the phones for the girls and its $150 or so for the girl to come out to the room. He responded with a heavy accent, “Oh nono… I need to talk to the girl now before she comes over.” She said that she can’t do that because the girls only go to the room, not talk on the phone. He insisted again, “No I need to talk to the girl… I must talk to her before.” She tries convincing him again but gives up and pulls a fast one by shouting out to an imaginary girl, putting the guy on hold and picks up the phone again but with a more teeny-bopper voice, “Hello? My friend said you wanted to talk to me?”

He replied in a low voice, “Do you have to shit?”
“Excuse me?”, she said.
“Do you have to poop? I want a girl to come to my room and shit for me”
She hung up.

I died laughing when she told me this story. Too funny.

So I have been horrible about posting again… I haven’t been in the mood to write lately and nothing was coming to me of any interest to write. I also got pretty busy the last few weeks so my computer time has been quite limited. I fear my feed reader. I also wanted to apologize to The English Courtesan for not responding to her tagging me. I have been lazy and uninspired… hopefully that will change and will respond back! My friend also had my camera for a bit so sorry about the lack of photos.

What else is going on in my life here in Vegas as an escort? Well I have seen an increasing trend of security asking me for my I.D. and then giving me the third degree for not having it. Sorry, but I know if I show it to the hotels who have asked, they will run it and see that I had been arrested at one of their sister properties. From there they can either just warn me, hold me until I get a ticket for trespassing from Metro, or go to jail. One security guy at the Mirage was acting so screwy I had to walk out of the front door, to the public sidewalk, and all the way around the block to get to my car in the garage. That really wasn’t a good night. Usually when this behavior goes on I think that there is a bust going on and they are taking advantage of clearing as many girls as they can from their casino. Another hint when a bust is taking place? The lack of security at the elevators when they normally check for keys… that night at the Mirage I had noticed this as well. I was happy to get my butt out of there..
