News Heard Through The Hooker Grapevine

Tuesday, November 18th, 2008

Believe it or not, I didn’t come up with the phrase of “hooker grapevine”. It happened to be a cop that was helping me out after an incident unrelated to my profession downtown and worked the desk on his off nights for incident reports. He was going on about how he used to work for vice and thought “those girls that work are only giving people what they want and not really doing wrong”. Wish more cops thought that way…

Anyway I am going to have a few entries sporadically when I hear about some of the silly stuff from girls that they consider big “news” and is almost all bullsh*t they heard through some girl who heard it from another girl. Some girls are smart but for the most part a lot of them don’t think rationally when they hear the gossip about the latest hooker news. Here are some examples:

1) Clark County has no “incrimination” laws:
I constantly hear girls and especially *customers* who are absolutely convinced that if they ask a person “Are you a cop?” they must answer truthfully if they are or not. First of all… the word incrimination is misused. The real “incrimination law” is more in context with our US Constitution with “pleading the fifth”, and not in this terrible use of the word when dealing with identifying local law enforcement. I roll my eyes every time someone asks me if I am a cop and how you are legally supposed to answer it truthfully if you *were* a cop. This idiotic logic makes my head spin.

2) No More releases of detainees on their own recognizance when arrested by Vice
I’ve heard this “news” from two different girls. One was back in August and more recently a girl who was arrested last week on purely trespassing but was done by vice. I don’t get this discrimination of on department of law enforcement to another. How would the vice department have more special rules than say, you being arrested for a DUI or burglary? It makes no sense at all and sounds like a bunch of crap the officers told them. I hope it’s not true, that’s for sure!

3) Craigslist busts during the daytime
If this little story is true then they have been trying new things out at the police dept. I know Craigslist has long been notoriously high with busts off and on for years and now with the “erotic services” being in the news so much lately because of the new regulations (which I think violates Internet free speech) I am not surprised if the story ended up to be true.

So there’s my three little news stories for today. I’m trying to work right now and waiting for my phone to ring but so far it’s a bunch of people wanting to play jokes. Sad

Dirty Money on CNBC

Friday, November 14th, 2008

I have it recorded the CNBC show on prostitution but haven’t gotten the chance to watch it.. but definitely will write a review on it as soon as this headache goes away.

So I’ve been around. I have been just bored with writing or finding things to write about lately. Same stuff, different day just things seem to be a little different now when it comes to making money and working things out on calls here in Vegas as the economy tumbles. I think I am adapting pretty well though. I will definitely write more about my opinions on the impact of Las Vegas. Been getting a few requests for interviews as well about the subject and will soon when I get the chance.

Anyway I will post more interesting stuff soon.. just wanted to stop in

Question Of The Day: How To Comfortably Book A Girl For A Couple

Sunday, November 2nd, 2008

So since my site has been redone I have added my email address and opened up for questioning about all things Las Vegas when dealing with the sex industry and escorts. Here’s one question I received and thought it would be a good idea to answer on here since this is a common question I have received when regarding couples:

“My wife and I will be visiting Vegas in a few months and have been talking about possibly contacting an escort while we are there. It’s mostly for her, though I’m sure I’ll enjoy it as well. We looked at some internet sites, and I remember receiving lots of those cards when I visited Vegas in the past, but we don’t really trust those contact methods. Consistent with what you were saying, I’ve always had a feeling that the girls in the pictures are not likely to be the ones they send. My wife and I are both young and attractive and I’m sure we could probably find someone at a club in Vegas. But we don’t really go to clubs, and I don’t think we actually want to establish a real relationship with someone while we’re there. We just want to have a little fun. Do you have any suggestions? Ideally, we would be able to check the girl out and maybe even set things up a little before we get there.”

I think there are two options for this type of entertainment when people are a little more on the nervous and cautious side when trying to book:
First, is of course looking online for people who specifically see couples and contact them about arranging a meeting. Most people don’t mind coming over to meet up and figuring things out from there as far as entertainment goes. I think meeting people in clubs around here can be difficult and time consuming and possibly a complete waste of time. You are right about most of the girls in the pictures being too good to be true, but if you suspect whom you are calling is an agency then maybe just give them a good description of the type of girl you are looking for. The only difference between an independent girl and someone through an agency is just a fee that you have to pay up front to get them there and naked. Other than that, there isn’t much difference.

The second option is the legal one: the brothels out in Pahrump. If you are still feeling unsure and want to be able to speak freely about what entertainment you both would like (hard to when you are in Las Vegas since prostitution is illegal) then I think the most confident way to go is to visit one of these places. It’s not too far away and they offer transportation if you contact the brothel ahead of time. Luckily they made it easy by putting the Chicken Ranch and Sheri’s Ranch next door to each other so if one doesn’t suit you, then you can walk next door to the other one. I personally have visited both properties and found that the selection of girls at Sheri’s is better. Each girl sets her own price so you have to talk to them there. I know girls personally who work out there and charge $800+ for a couples party (the more both of you are involved the more expensive it gets). I don’t think the cost will differ too much whether you call a girl in Vegas or you make the trip to Pahrump… but the only difference is Pahrump offers a piece of mind with safe, professional girls who you can talk freely and openly to. Also picking a girl from a group at the Ranch is sometimes easier than waiting for a girl in your room because if she shows up to your hotel and you don’t approve, then you don’t have to wait another 20-30 minutes for the next girl to show up… or have to call someone else entirely.
Of course I don’t want anyone to be discouraged from calling a girl here locally but if the technicalities of booking something and not knowing who, what, or how much bothers you then I’d suggest the brothels. It’s the only thing of its kind in the U.S. and I think everyone should experience them.
Hopefully that helped some people who are just nervous and don’t know what to do when it comes to finding someone to entertain a couple… and I hope I didn’t shoot my own business in the foot 🙂

My Opinion On The San Francisco Prop K

Monday, October 27th, 2008

So my news feeds have been chop full of people asking for support on the whole Proposition K vote in San Francisco. So what is my opinion of it? I am for it as far as I can tell what I have read and understand about the proposition. In fact I wish they had something along the lines of that here in Las Vegas. I understand the concern that the District Attorney has who spoke on the video about how it would make the city run rampant with street walkers and allow pimps to take over. That’s the part that I don’t understand as much. If they are decriminalizing prostitution then how does that have to do with pimps getting away with anything they want? Isn’t that part of the point so that girls can get help when they get into tough situations with clients or their pimp? Of course they shouldn’t decriminalize pimping laws and trafficking but that has no relation to the Proposition that is up for vote. I think this will only encourage girls to not be afraid of reporting their pimps or unethical businesses they work for.

I wish something would be passed like this in Las Vegas but I think it would need a little more regulation here since so many people come from out of town or state and take advantage of the laws we have here.  A few years ago (I looked all over and can’t find the article) Las Vegas encouraged girls to come to the police and report their overpowering and abusive pimps without fear of being prosecuted themselves. Apparently under older laws, it was difficult for police and vice to prosecute the pimps without physically witnessing the exchange of money from a known prostitute. Absolutely ridiculous in my opinion that they had to come out and encourage girls it was the right thing to do and report abuse. Either way, I think the police should do more about the pimps than go after the girls like they do now, and I don’t think a law like Prop K would allow the pimps to rein the streets.  I also think if the streetwalkers got out of hand in certain areas that they should be encouraged to move on. I don’t mind solicitation when girls are minding their own business by sitting at bars, advertising online and pretty much keeping it behind closed doors but what I do mind more is when its affecting the safety of neighborhoods and making things look bad.

So my little opinion on the matter, I hope things do pass in San Francisco but I also hope it doesn’t cause prostitution to look like an ugly and bad thing if it increased significantly in the city. I hope it paves the way for more workers rights and keeps the system in check instead of the bullying by our local governments, especially here in Las Vegas.
